My chrismation was on Oct 29, 2023 at the age of 76! This was my first Pascha celebration after a lifetime in various evangelical/protestant traditions. Your descriptions were wonderful.
Thanks Kyle for all this wo wonderfully educating information. You truly have brought the entire event to life for all of us. I know you'll keep teaching this more as you and your family continue the transition to Eastern Christianity.
thanks for taking the time to write this and I hope you get a chance to rest now along with the family.
Pascha in the Orthodox Church is something unparalleled. I don't mean to sound triumphalist, but it's my personal experience now being in the Church for a little over a decade. Spending the 40 days of Great Lent and the intensity of Holy Week fasting, praying, preparing for and expected Pascha, makes the experience of it so much more impactful. It's the difference of having your 5th glass of water for the day and hardly giving it a thought vs. emerging from a desert, a parched, hot, sweaty mess and being handed your first glass of ice cold water in several days. It's the sweetest thing you've ever tasted and your gratitude and appreciation for it knows no bounds. That's the joy of Pascha. Christ is Risen! May He grant us to cleave to the joy of this season and carry it always in our hearts!
Christ is Risen!
He is Risen Indeed!

Happy belated Pascha! Sounds like a joyous celebration. Thanks for sharing that awesome sermon from St. John Chrysostom.
